It's not just playoff spots that are up for grabs during the final week of the 2021 NFL regular season, there is also a chance for some players to make history and set new records.

DAZN News takes a look at the players who could break five regular season records in the final slate of games.

Tom Brady

It's no surprise that Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady is in the running to break two regular season records when his team lines up against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion needs just 16 more pass completions in order to surpass Drew Brees' record of 471 in 2016.

Brady can also surpass Matthew Stafford's record of 727 pass attempts in a single regular season if he attempts to throw the ball 46 times.

TJ Watt

Pittsburgh Steelers OLB TJ. Watt has been terrorising opposition offences all season and Monday's win against division rivals the Cleveland Browns was a prime example.

Watt sacked Browns QB Baker Mayfield four times in 26-14 win for the Steelers moving to 21.5 for the whole season and is now just 1.5 sacks away from breaking Michael Strahan's 20 year record.

Accomplishing this feat against bitter rivals the Baltimore Ravens would be the perfect way to end a memorable season for Watt who could break the record by playing just 16 games after missing two through injury.

Cooper Kupp

The Los Angeles Rams all-star offence has provided endless entertainment throughout 2021 and WR Cooper Kupp has played a major part.

Going into the team's final regular season game against the playoff chasing San Francisco 49ers at SoFi Stadium, the 28-year-old will be looking to become the centre of attention with two NFL records in his sights.

Twelve catches is all Kupp needs to become the first player to make 150 receptions in a single regular season, but there is another league milestone set by Calvin Johnson in 2012 that the one-time Pro Bowler will be aiming to surpass.

Ten years ago 'Megatron' recorded 1964 receiving yards in the 2012 regular season, however, if Kupp manages to chalk up 136 yards against the 49ers, he will set a new NFL record.

Deebo Samuel

Debo Samuel has proved to be a unique weapon on the San Francisco 49ers.

As well as being a talented WR, Samuel hasn't been afraid to help out when it comes to rushing and has become the first receiver to lead his team in rushing TDs since the AFL and NFL merged in 1970.

Samuel will be looking to add more TDs to his regular season total in huge game against the Rams where a win for the 49ers would clinch a place in the playoffs.

Trevon Diggs

Trevon Diggs got off to the best possible start as a member of the Dallas Cowboys defence this season.

Making seven interceptions in his first six games, Diggs quickly became a man to be feared on the defensive side of the ball.

But after a brief stagnation in his performances, the 23-year-old CB is still on course to break the record the most interceptions in a single regular season.

Diggs currently has 11 and will need to make three more against division rival the Philadelphia to become the first man in the Super Bowl era to have 14 picks in a season.
