Anthony Joshua names the two fights that would 'complete' his career

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua believes that there are two fights which would complete his career resume.

After knocking out Robert Helenius back in August, Joshua is now looking to secure a big name for his next outing, and for a while it was looking like a clash with former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was on the cards.

However, talks have gone quiet and if the two were to meet, it is likely that it would take place at some point in 2024.

Speaking to Men's Health, Joshua is wanting to at least fight one of Wilder or domestic rival Tyson Fury before his career comes to an end, but if none of those matchups materialise, he insisted that he will continue his career as he looks to mount another charge towards a world title shot.

“If I don’t fight Fury or Deontay Wilder, one of those two, then yes," Joshua responded when asked whether his career would feel incomplete if a Wilder or Fury fight cannot be secured.

"But I’m not waiting around until I’m 40. I can’t drag my career out waiting. In between waiting, I will have to do more fights, more training camps, more pressure.”

Wilder's next move is unknown, while Fury is back in action on October 28 when he faces former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
