Anthony Joshua vs. Dillian Whyte 2: Is it win or bust for both fighters?

Excitement is already building ahead of the rematch between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte on August 12 live on DAZN, but already questions are being asked when it comes to what's next for the winner and loser.

Both Joshua and Whyte are at a crossroads in their respective careers. They have featured in numerous world title fights, but after experiencing a mixed run of performances in recent years, there are some doubts as to whether Joshua and Whyte can still challenge at the highest level.

This theme was a topic of discussion on JABS and Sergio Mora believes it is a 'win or bust' for either man.

"It’s win or go home for both of them in different sense of the word," Mora began.

"It’s win or no more A-side money, A-side attraction, big arena filling up, you’re not going to be that guy anymore if you’re Anthony Joshua.  You’ve already been stopped; you’ve already been to the top and came up short.

"But it’s win or retirement home for Dillian Whyte because he’s been stopped three times.

"He’s fun to watch, he’s going to be that guy who can still compete with the up and comers, but the A-side on the championship level where you’re the top dog and you’re demanding that big money like Dillian Whyte wants and demands, he’s not going to be that guy either."

Joshua will be considered the favourite going into the contest at London's O2 Arena and will look to showcase his aggressive side following a routine points win over Jermaine Franklin last April.

However, after the first fight in 2015 which saw Whyte rock his British rival at certain stages, Mora claims that 'The Bodysnatcher' has the tools to produce the upset and derail Joshua's future plans.

"When they fought in 2015, that was an entertaining fight, both of them had their moments," Mora said.

"Dillian Whyte somewhat has, not Joshua’s number, but he has the right counter punches to stop and knockout a Joshua believe it or not.

"Especially with the experience that he has now, getting hurt and coming back from that. He’s grown resilience, he’s evolved more.

"I think he’s the tougher fighter between as well, so if we see Joshua get a little shaky, I won’t be surprised if Dillian Whyte does something special."
