Ben Whittaker has promised to "look pretty" when he faces Braian Suarez in Liverpool on Saturday after a typically bullish press conference performance.
'The Surgeon' will headline at the M&S Bank Arena live on DAZN after injured bill-topper Callum Smith was forced to withdraw from his bout with David Morrell.
It marks a second bout under the Matchroom Boxing banner for the Tokyo 2020 silver-medalist, after a first-round knockout against Benjamin Gavazi in November.
Now, speaking on Thursday, the star promised more fireworks to follow his debut with the promotion this weekend, as he rocked the microphone in his usual fashion.
"You know what I do," Whittaker stated. "They can all talk, they can all say they’re going to do this and that. Saturday, we’ll see. It’s a fight that I like, it’s a fight that I need.
"When fighters come to fight like this, the best Ben Whittaker turns out. All he can do is walk forward with those slow-a— platypus feet and that big-a— Rubik's [cube] head.
“All I’m going to do is go out there, look pretty, look good, listen to my team, and how long it lasts, it lasts.”
Argentine Suarez, who spoke through an interpreter, insisted however that he arrives from South America to win, suggesting talk is cheap when it comes to the fight game.
"It’s what happens in the ring that counts," he added. "I’m very happy to have the opportunity for this fight. Saturday, I’m going to be walking away with the victory against Ben."
Suarez also suggested that his bout represented an audition to sign with Eddie Hearn, stating: "When it’s over, I want to be the second Argentinian fighter signed to Matchroom.”
Whittaker is entering his third fight with Andy Lee as coach, with the Irishman revealing that his charge has come on in leaps and pounds ahead of this latest encounter.
"What I’ve seen from Ben in this camp, he’s just gone to a whole new level," he added on the West Bromwich fighter. "His ceiling, I don’t know where it is.
"He just keeps getting better and better and better with each week that passes in camp. It’s scary and very exciting. You’re all in for a good show on Saturday night.”
