Ring 6: López vs Stevenson on DAZN PPV - Jan 31

Tony Sims has only worked with Daniel Dubois for a brief period, but the veteran trainer is already impressed with what he has seen from the former heavyweight champion.

Dubois made the switch to Sims last year after he was topped by Oleksandr Usyk for a second time inside a sold-out Wembley Stadium.

The Brit was a huge underdog going into the contest, but many of his close team were convinced that he was able to pull off an upset.

Heading into that contest, Dubois had been on an incredible run of form that saw him overpower a number of top contenders including Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.

The Joshua win made Dubois a huge star and even though he would eventually lose to Usyk, there are many within the sport who believe that Dubois can still play a huge part in the heavyweight division moving forward.

Sims, who has trained many elite operators, is happy with Dubois’ progress so far and believes he could be a threat to Tyson Fury’s comeback.

"I think Daniel can beat anybody. His power is phenomenal. We all know that. In the heavyweight scene, anyone can beat anyone,” said Sims when speaking to Sky Sports.

"Daniel is capable of beating Tyson Fury or anyone he goes against. It's going to be an interesting year this year to see who fights who."
