Alvarez will be putting all four of his super middleweight titles on the line in a fight which will be available on DAZN PPV and it will be the first time he has faced a Mexican challenger on Cinco de Mayo weekend. 

One thing that both men have in common is that they have fought Britain's John Ryder. Alvarez went the full distance with Ryder last year, while Munguia stopped "The Gorilla" in nine rounds back in January. 

Munguia's dominant performance against Ryder has led to some believing that the 27-year-old could produce an upset in Las Vegas, but speaking at Tuesday's Grand Arrivals, Alvarez is confident that he is on a different level to his challenger which will steer him towards victory. 

“I am happy to be here, I’m looking forward to an outstanding week. This is a very significant and historic fight with two Mexicans fighting for all four belts for the first time," Alvarez told PBC. 

“I’m looking to leave my mark and put my country up high. Munguia deserves respect, it’s going to be a great fight, but I don’t care if he is younger, older, because in the end, Canelo is different.”

The defending champion was then asked to make a prediction for the fight which also served as a warning to Munguia. 

“I think that I am going to win by knockout before the eighth round," Alvarez said. 

If Alvarez does manage to knockout Munguia, it will be his first win within the scheduled distance since 2021 when he stopped Caleb Plant to become the undisputed champion at super middleweight.
