Carlos Adames will finally defend his WBC middleweight crown tonight against Austin 'Ammo' Williams in Orlando, Florida.
The pair were originally due to meet in New York back in January, before the champion withdrew through a sudden illness.
Now, he will have the chance to put his title on the line against a highly rated and dangerous opponent chasing his scalp.
But just how did they come to this match-up? DAZN News explores the last five fights for each man and how they fared.
A former light-middleweight contender who has found greater joy with a few extra pounds on his frame, Adames is undefeated since a 2019 loss.
Yet that does not tell the full story. Wins over Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Juan Macias Montiel and Julian Williams earned him his place near the top.
He was elevated in 2024 and promptly defended it against Terrell Gausha. However, he needed a split-draw to see off Hamzah Sheeraz last time out.
Two years younger, and primed to make good on his self-assured promise of a world title if he wins here, Williams holds a near-flawless record.
His only reverse came against Sheeraz, who scored a late knockout against him back in 2024 - but he has bounced back in busy fashion since.
Wins over Gian Garrido, Patrice Volny, Ivan Vazquez and Wendy Toussaint have helped to reaffirm his status as a contender near the summit.
