Dalton Smith is being touted as one of British boxing's brightest prospects.

Just four years into his professional boxing career, Smith is being billed by some as a future world champion, but while there is potential for the Sheffield fighter to be fast-tracked to boxing's biggest stage, he seems to be going about things the right way.

Now a British and Commonwealth champion at super lightweight, it's expected that Smith will slowly push towards challenging for a world title at 140lbs and this could be achieved by first becoming a European champion.

What is Dalton Smith's professional record?

Dalton Smith boasts a 15-0 professional record with 11 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

Championships

Dalton Smith is yet to challenge for a world title, but he is currently the British super lightweight champion after beating Sam O'maison for the vacant Lonsdale belt in August 2022 and also the Commonwealth super lightweight champion after beating Sam Maxwell on July 1, 2023.

Biggest wins

Smith becomes British champion in front of home crowd; August 6, 2022

One of the many aspirations for Dalton Smith is the chance to fight at Hillsborough Stadium, the home of his beloved Sheffield Wednesday. But if he is to make this dream a reality, he will need to amass a sizeable following in his home city of Sheffield.

His clash with local rival Sam O'maison inside the Steel City's Utilita Arena for the vacant British super lightweight title was the perfect test and Smith passed it with flying colours.

After probing in the opening rounds, Smith dropped O'maison in the third and from that moment on it was clear that the fight was only going to go one way.

The contest was brought to an early end in the sixth when O'maison found himself on the end of a brutal Smith right hand, resulting in Smith being crowned the British champion at 140lbs.

Smith produces brutal knockout against Maxwell to claim Commonwealth title; July 1, 2023

Dalton Smith continued to make huge progress in his home city of Sheffield when he knocked out Sam Maxwell to claim the Commonwealth super lightweight title and become the outright British 140lb champion.

It was a fight which Smith dominated from the outset with his countering proving effective against his British rival.

Come the seventh round, Smith took advantage of a lapse in Maxwell's defence and landed a perfect right hand to bring the contest to an end.
