"He said he will find out on Saturday," he said on DAZN's broadcast of the Open Workouts. "It is mad to think this man is only thirty-two, with the people he’s been in with, how long he’s been around.

"He’s been in some big fights. This man has underachieved. He’s never won a title, any title, nothing. He’s fought for titles, but he’s never won any.

"He’s good enough to win a solid domestic title. He’s got quick hands, he’s tough, he’s got the heart of a lion, he’s got good footwork.

"But for whatever reason it is, he just hasn’t transferred it into the ring on fight night.

"What I want to see from Dave Allen is just him completely empty the tank. Give it everything, with one last roll of the dice. Let’s see what happens."
