Allen 'found a future' despite Hrgovic loss as Hearn salutes star
Dave Allen "found himself a future" over the past two years, with Eddie Hearn expressing his pride for 'The White Rhino'.
The star came up short against Filip Hrgovic inside three rounds at a homecoming bout at Doncaster's Eco-Power Stadium.
Yet despite a second loss in his past three fights, Allen's latest outing nevertheless ensured another bumper payday.
Having been originally set to retire in 2024, the star has enjoyed an impressive revival to leave Matchroom boss Hearn proud.

"What you saw tonight was obviously a fairytale story that didn't quite have the ending," he told DAZN's Ade Oladipo.
"But you also saw a British-level heavyweight against a world-level heavyweight who was much too good.
"I think why this place was so busy tonight is because Dave is a normal guy. He's found a way and he's an inspiration.
"He found himself a future. His family will be secure forever. Tonight, he lived the dream and I'm very proud of what he's done."

A three-time headliner since - twice in arenas, and now with a hometown stadium show - the star is a heavyweight fixture again.
Filip Hrgovic was always likely to be a bridge too far, more so than Arslanbek Makhmudov. But this was about more than the result.
Allen has made no secret that he wants to bank hard before time amid this booking purple patch. Here, he undoubtedly did so.
Eddie Hearn alluded to it in his post-bout comments. 'The White Rhino' can finally have his en-suite - and perhaps a little more too.
