More often than not, when two Mexican fighters are set to fight, a battle ensues.
Things are not expected to change on Saturday night from Las Vegas, live on DAZN PPV, when David Benavidez moves up to challenge Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez for the WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles.
"I'm very excited for this," Benavidez said at Thursday's press conference. "I've been training extremely hard. I got five months in this training camp because I know Zurdo Ramirez is a great fighter and a great champion. We've done a lot of rounds with him.
"I know he's going to come to fight. Big respect to these guys (points to Ramirez's team). They're all great dudes. With that being said, it's time to go to war. And when David Benavidez goes to war, he doesn't shy away from anything. When I see the fire, I put myself in the fire, and I get the best version out of myself. I'm not scared of nobody."
