The Californian prospect, one of the most feared names at super-middleweight, is back in action this weekend as he stars on a huge night of boxing , live on DAZN .

Pacheco is hoping he can close in on a world title shot at 168lbs, but first he must take care of Nelson in Las Vegas. 

Last year, numerous high-quality operators aimed to become world champion at super-middleweight, but their efforts were thwarted by the brilliant Canelo Alvarez . 

Pacheco, who has long been identified as one of boxing’s brightest hopes, is remaining patient about ruling the division with his focus fully on Nelson this Saturday night.

The Nebraska fighter has big plans to cause an upset, and he can call on Terence Crawford to provide him with guidance. 

Despite the influence of one of boxing’s best fighters assisting Nelson in his efforts to shock the world, Pacheco does not appear to be impacted by the four-weight world champion. 

“I know Steven Nelson from being one of Terence Crawford’s fighters. I know he’s from Omaha, Nebraska, and that he is 36 years old. That’s pretty much it. For me, he’s just another opponent. I’m coming in to knock him out on January 25th," said Pacheco when speaking to The Ring. 

“It makes it a fun fight. Having a top pound-for-pound fighter like Crawford in your corner is always a good thing, but he can’t get in there and fight for him. He can be a good cheerleader on the sidelines, but that is pretty much it.”
