Dillian Whyte claims Tyson Fury is too scared to face him

Saturday night's fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will mark the end of one of boxing's recent great rivalries, but if Fury wins, there is potential for the start of another thrilling matchup.

It is expected whoever comes out on top will face mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, but the British heavyweight isn't optimistic about facing Fury if he does indeed win on October 9.

"Tyson Fury says he will fight me in December, so maybe I will get my shot in December,” Whyte told Boxing Scene.

“That’s what he said. But we all know [Fury] says a lot of things but doesn’t do a lot of things. I call him Houdini, he will do a disappearing act.”

Anthony Joshua's loss to Oleksandr Usyk less than two years ago and an impending rematch between the two has put the idea of an undisputed fight on ice, meaning Whyte is looking to finally get his shot at a world title.

"He just talks s—, he’s like a kid, he talks s— the whole time," added Whyte.

"Tyson Fury always runs from dangerous challenges. If he thinks he can beat you and he gets in your psyche, like Wilder, he will take that. Does he 100 percent believe he can beat me and Joshua? No."

Whyte is set to return to the ring on October 30 when he takes on former Fury opponent Otto Walin at London's O2 Arena.
