Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn: Eddie Hearn pledges to 'stay out' of pre-fight build-up

Eddie Hearn has vowed to say as little as possible ahead of Saturday's Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn fight.
Staying completely silent will be next to impossible of course, as Hearn is Benn's promoter. As such, Hearn has been involved in the build-up as any promoter would — but the Matchroom Boxing boss has often been the target of Eubank's scorn, which Hearn believes could create an "unfair advantage" for Benn should it continue.
"I don't want to upset Chris Eubank Jr.," Hearn said on the broadcast of the Grand Arrivals in London on Tuesday. "I don't want any unfair advantage for Conor Benn.
"Clearly, most of Chris Eubank's focus going into this fight has been on me rather than Conor Benn. So I'm gonna stay out of it, because I don't want to get into his mind and start giving Conor Benn any additional advantage. We don't need any advantage."
Eubank took aim at Hearn during the fight's launch press conference in February, questioning the promoter's character in a verbal exchange between the two men that got overshadowed when Eubank slapped Benn with an egg during a heated face-off moments later. But the undertone of Eubank's apparent disdain for Hearn was not forgotten by the promoter, who pledged to stand aside as much as possible for the next few days.
"You won't hear a lot for from me this week, I want to try and stay out of Chris Eubank Jr's way because I don't want to get in his head," Hearn said. "Let him focus on the fight, he really needs to."
