Fabio Wardley will face WBO heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois for a second time after activating his rematch clause.
Just six days have passed since their classic at Manchester's Co-op Live, and the fight is still being talked about by the boxing world.
Wardley scored knockdowns in rounds one and three, but this did not deter Dubois who went on to stop Wardley in round 11 and is now a two-time world champion.
Promoter Frank Warren did confirm in the fight's aftermath that there was a rematch clause, and Wardley is out for revenge against Dubois.
"The boxing world knows my character, and Saturday night proved that without a shred of doubt," Wardley told Sky Sports.
"It was a fight for the ages, but I made some mistakes that I will rectify in the rematch. Congratulations to Daniel, but I'm coming for you… and my belt!"
While the rematch clause has been activated, it remains a mystery as to when this second fight between Dubois and Wardley will take place.
Wardley was left in a battered state after Saturday's encounter, and it will take a long time to recover, therefore, it's likely he will not be ready to return until the end of this year at the earliest.
When it comes to Dubois, Warren told DAZN News that he wants 'Dynamite' to be back in the ring by the end of November at the latest.
There is a possibility fight fans could get a second Dubois-Wardley fight by Warren's November deadline, but it will take some turnaround and an impressive recovery after both men were involved in a punishing battle.
Dave Allen is back in Doncaster to face Filip Hrgovic in a heavyweight showdown this Saturday, May 16. Watch exclusively on DAZN with your subscription. Monthly and annual options available.
