Fabio Wardley has arguably delivered a more thrilling past trio of fights than anyone else in boxing.
There was the first-round thrashing of Frazer Clarke in their October 2024 rematch followed by a rallying 10th-round knockout of Justis Hunni after being thoroughly outboxed in their June 2025 bout.
Then came his stunning late stoppage against Joseph Parker last fall. The win earned the Ipswich man the WBO interim heavyweight title before being elevated to full status champion.
Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) will now look to defend the title Saturday night against former heavyweight world champion Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, and live on DAZN PPV. .
The bout is being billed as “Don’t Blink” and given Wardley’s absurd 95 percent knockout rate — powered by his last three outings — it’s an apt advertisment.
All of this burgeoning star power is not bad for a 31-year-old who began his sweet science journey in white-collar boxing, donning a pair of gloves for the first time at 21, and being picked out the rough by Dillian Whyte.
“For what I lack in experience,” Wardley told DAZN after defeating Parker, “I make up for in chin, heart, determination, will.”
He sure does and his legend is growing with each effort. A convincing win over Dubois, a former sparring partner, will only catapult his stock. While we await to see how this weekend’s bout unfolds, DAZN News relives how Wardley has increased his growing legend.
After battling Frazer Clarke to a split draw about seven months prior, Fabio Wardley erased any thought of their rematch going the distance and he did so in devastating fashion.
An overhand right clung to Clarke’s temple, trapping him into a corner, where Wardley hammered away with a left-right combination. The heavyweight then measured Clarke up for one more massive overhand right, slumping him toward a crushing first-round TKO.
Justis Huni, an undefeated 6-foot-4 Australian, was comfortably ahead on the scorecards as a result of shrewdly managing the ring real estate in beautifully outboxing Wardley through nine rounds.
Wardley looked like he’d fall victim to Huni’s diverse punching palette and overall sweet science skills. But when Huni inexplicably tried to punch in traffic with Wardley, the Ipswich man pulled a raucous right hook from the heavens for a startling 10th-round knockout.
Wardley was far from flawless in the performance, but was perfect in those deciding seconds.
The fact he managed the jaw-dropping, rallying victory at his Portman Road homecoming show, and live on DAZN, only did more to raise his fighting profile domestically and abroad. It also added to his penchant and flair for the dramatic finish.
With a chance to become the interim WBO heavyweight champion, Wardley put together his most complete boxing performance yet.
Everything from a crisp jab to his timing, muscling on the inside and ability to slip punches was on display. Still, he found himself trailing Joseph Parker, the former heavyweight world champion, on two of the three judges’ scorecards entering the 11th round.
That’s when Wardley, brimming with grit, showed off his motor. With a gassed Parker’s engine sputtering, Wardley mashed the dash with pressure, unloaded and emptied his tank of fuel in a barrage of punches that rendered the New Zealander victim to an 11th-round TKO.
Now, entering this weekend with a potential crack at unified ruler Oleksandr Usyk hanging in the balance, Wardley looks for another theatrical, striking finish — one that will grow his legend another notch and put him on the brink of the fight of a lifetime.
