With only one loss on his professional record against Agit Kabayel, perhaps it was strange for plenty of the fraternity to write off the Cuban's prospects.

Instead, he made good on his promise and delivered a swift result to tee up a shot at Oleksandr Usyk after winning this IBF title eliminator encounter.

For Sanchez though, it is unlikely the Ukrainian will be his next opponent - though there is a chance that the star could be elevated if Usyk is stripped.

Either way, the likely next step will come against another top-ranked IBF contender. Right now, Moses Itauma is next - could the Briton be the one?

Richard Torrez Jr.

Youth is firmly on the side of the American after suffering his first professional loss - but in a first serious world-level test, he came up despairingly short.

That will likely cost him a shot at another upper-tier operator for the next year or so, but Torrez will be keen to get back into the ring and back on track.

That could lead him back to the domestic scene, or the lower levels of the IBF rankings if he wishes to continue such a pursuit with the sanctioning body.

Jarrell Miller is one US contender still on the table, but it seems more likely Torrez may pursuit a less-recognised opponent for his next move instead.
