'He's not a PPV star' - Gib gives brutal assessment of rival Slim ahead of X-Series 019

AnEsonGib is not mincing his words when it comes to his next opponent Slim.

The pair will look to settle their differences at X-Series 019 on November 28 live on DAZN PPV in the main event of a stacked card in Qatar.

The upcoming fight between Gib and Slim has been one which could have come earlier, but there have been a number of reasons why the contest has struggled to get made.

In the build-up to their meeting in the Middle East, Slim has placed the blame on his rival but speaking exclusively to DAZN News, Gib had the chance to tell his side of the story.

"When you are looking for fights, there are many options," Gib began.

"He was always a C-list option, there was a fight where I could have fought on Social Knockout or Social Gloves, Austin McBroom, Bryce Hall, Taylor Holder, Deji, big names or an event with this guy that nobody knows about.

"Of course I took the big events, another thing happened. I want to fight, what contracts have I got, there’s Slim, there is someone else, there’s Austin McBroom, I’ll take the guy with 20 million subs and the head of the organisation that took away my win.

"We go over to Kingpyn. Kingpyn had a multi-million dollar tournament or fight Slim, I’m going to fight in this multi-million dollar tournament with these big names, if you want, you can come over. He just got his a—s beat by someone from the tournament, he didn’t join it!"

Gib makes no secret that he believes Slim is the best fighter in Misfits with a 7-0 record and five of those wins coming by way of knockout.

But this did not stop Gib from firing another criticism towards his next opponent.

"He was always a C-list option, for a year now Misfits could not organise him a fight because as KSI stated in press conferences, he is not a pay-per-view star."

A number of questions are set to be answered when Gib and Slim clash in the coming days, and if Slim is able to get the win in Doha, maybe this will be what he needs in order to become a pay-per-view star.
