Whenever Anthony Joshua loses a fight, his tactics are put under the microscope and it's no different following Saturday's loss to IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.

Joshua failed to cope with the front foot approach taken by Dubois who knocked down the former unified heavyweight champion on multiple occasions before being knocked out in the fifth.

With Joshua's last three wins against Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius and Francis Ngannou all being via stoppage, many were expecting the Olympic gold medallist to adopt an aggressive approach to the contest.

Speaking to ProBox TV, former two-weight world champion Timothy Bradley Jr. believes that Joshua's shortcomings were as result of struggling to cope with the speed of Dubois and him not being mentally able to adapt to what was being thrown at him.

"AJ has gotten a little bit better skillfully. He evolved going through all those trainers. The thing is, when you force a pace on him, it’s like system overload,” Bradley said.

"He doesn’t know what to do. He has to react quickly, and it requires him to make quick decisions.

“I knew this going in. Dubois does very well when he’s coming forward. He’s very explosive. He has that pendulum bounce. He’ll bounce back and then come forward extremely fast and close the distance on you.”
