Jaime Munguia explains why Canelo Alvarez struggled against John Ryder

The biggest fight of Jaime Munguia's career so far takes place on Saturday night when he takes on the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on DAZN PPV.
While Munguia is 43-0 (34 KOs), he is yet to face an opponent of Alvarez's stature, but the two fighters have faced Britain's John Ryder within the past 12 months.
Munguia stopped Ryder in the ninth round of their clash back in January, while Alvarez beat "The Gorilla" by unanimous decision last May in a performance which was met with some criticism.
Speaking to DAZN, Munguia explained why his fellow Mexican may have struggled against the experienced Brit.
"Maybe it was a bad night for Canelo. I don’t know what was going on," Munguia said.
"Maybe it was the altitude in Guadalajara, I’m not sure what happened.
"He got tired in the later rounds, it was when Ryder hit Canelo harder.
"However, I think Canelo dominated the fight very well. He used his experience and many other things that he learned along the way."
