Returning to his home city of Philadelphia, Ennis will be taking on Uisma Lima after previously winning world titles at welterweight. 

Lima may not be a recognised name, but he is game opponent who has the key to some major matchups in 2026 for Ennis. 

A win for 'Boots' is seemingly setting up an all-American showdown with Vergil Ortiz Jr who has business of his own to attend to when he faces Erickson Lubin on November 8, live on DAZN. 

Fight week is well underway in Philadelphia with Ennis and Lima taking part in the final press conference on Thursday, and from the outset 'Boots' was on the verbal offensive. 

"I'm glad that he thinks he's confident. I like it, I like the confidence. But he talks too much," Ennis said.

"You know, he's going to get exactly what he is looking for, and that’s an early night. I'm gonna have some fun and I'm going to show up. I'm not here to play games."

Ennis is fast becoming a popular name in American boxing and he is building a fanbase to go with it. His previous two fights at Xfinity Mobile Arena have been near sell outs and Ennis is backing his fans to roar him on during a fight which he believes will end by knockout. 

"This road warrior thing he’s got going on, he’s about to fight in front of my fans in Philly, it’s a whole different energy and vibe.

"I’m glad he’s accepted the fight, and appreciate you for it, but you’ll see me on Saturday night and you all know my slogan, we’re in and out like a robbery."

If Ennis is to knockout Lima, it would be the first time the Angolan has suffered such a defeat with the sole loss on his 15-fight record coming via the judges' scorecards.
