Despite the fact both men hold titles, 'Bam' arrives as the overwhelming favourite - and though Martinez is a fine operator, plenty see a gulf between them.

Whether victory against such an opponent further elevates Rodriguez's legacy remains to be seen, though the American has been chasing him for a year.

The result however would be a third belt and a chance to go undisputed, with IBF champion Willibaldo García or his rival Kenshiro Teraji surely in his sights.
