Leo Atang has vowed to keep his expectations grounded, even as the rising heavyweight starlet continues to grow in stature.
The York-born teenager will contest his sixth professional bout this weekend on the Ben Whitaker-Braian Suarez undercard.
It marks the latest stepping stone for a fighter seen by pundits and powerbrokers as a serious glamour-divison threat to come.
But speaking ahead of his bout with journeyman Viktar Chvarkou, Atang admits that he wants to keep himself firmly in check.
"I wouldn't want to change anything because that would throw me off," he told The Ring. "I like to keep to my routine as normal.
"I get asked for photos and stuff, which is quite fun, but other than that it's a simple life. It's still normal. I still live a quiet life."
Atang sparked out last opponent Dan Garber in just over a minute in February, but admits he was frustrated with his own turn.
"I definitely rushed it," he added. "[It was] probably my worst performance yet. My fastest stoppage but my worst performance."
Spare a thought for poor Dan Garber if Leo Atang felt it was his worst turn in the ring yet when they met earlier this year.
But that is a mark of the quality that the young star believes he can offer, and of what he has shown the public thus far.
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn has not hidden his delight about one of his prized young guns so far. You can see why.
His latest test is unlikely to take him into deep waters, with the best will in the world. But every bout is a new milestone.
Atang will hope he can push on this year and add those extra rounds after several speedy knockouts. Then, who knows?
