Earlier this month, reports were claiming that the former eight-world champion will be ending his near four-year hiatus on July 19 with a world welterweight title fight against WBC champion Mario Barrios. 

This Pacquiao comeback has since taken another step closer to becoming a reality when the WBC put Pacquiao number five in their welterweight rankings following an update on May 12.

Training also appears to be underway for the 46-year-old after the Ring Magazine shared a video of Pacquiao hitting a bag just over two months away from supposedly returning to the ring. 

While the return of Pacquiao is generating some excitement amongst boxing fans, it is a decision which is receiving plenty of criticism. 

One of these criticisms being that challenging for a world title at 46 could have serious effects on Pacquiao's health if it does not go his way coupled with the anger of Pacquiao being able to jump the queue when it comes to challenging for a major title.
