Joshua lost his three world titles to the Ukrainian in September and triggered a rematch clause with the former undisputed world cruiserweight champion. 

The pair were originally set to meet in the first half of 2022, however, these plans didn't come to fruition after Usyk decided to return Ukraine and join the army following Russia's invasion. 

Now the reigning champion is back in training camp, Matchroom's Eddie Hearn believes an announcement could be made next week when it comes to the date and venue for the fight. 

"All our focus at the moment is to complete that fight and that contract which we will do this week, and you will get an announcement next week," Hearn told IFL TV. 

"If you ask me that question now, yes, you will get an announcement next week, then tomorrow something could take a bit longer on a contract, an escrow, whatever, and then all of a sudden, I’m a liar.

"I’ll do my best, as I talk to you now, I believe you’ll get an announcement next week."

The date July 23 and Saudi Arabia are looking like the favourites when it comes to date and venue, but Hearn revealed that there are still other options which are being considered by both camps: "There are options, but that is the front runner right now."
