What does it mean for Usyk vs Dubois 2?

The story of statistics across four fights shows growth for Dubois on the offensive, a stronger ability to take the fight to his foes - but it also tells the story of his opponents too.

With the exception of Joshua, neither Jarrell Miller nor Filip Hrgović arguably can hold a candle to Usyk in regards to boxing IQ, technique and the ability to read shifting tides.

That is reflected in the steady increase of shots Dubois was allowed to throw against both men, posting his best rounds for body punches and straight jabs against them.

Intriguingly, his accuracy with his jab was far stronger against Miller than any of other opponents, basically delivering an accurate effort every other punch versus the American.

Compared to his body punches, where he has found greater success overall, it paints a curious picture of a man who has clealry grown as a fighter, but against inferior rivals.

The Joshua stats further muddy the waters - unlike in his three other fights, Dubois did not need to go even half the distance, dishing out victory inside five rounds with his skills.

Such a performance improves the overall average in some metrics, but arguably weakens it in others, due to less data from a quicker performance, skewing his overall impact.

But one thing cannot be denied - Dubois has improved on nearly every level in at least one of his fights since Usyk stopped him in Poland two years ago. His growth is central.
