The Filipino legend, one of boxing’s greatest ever fighters, is looking for his first win in six years as he looks to become champion against the WBC strap holder.

At his peak, Pacquiao was one of boxing’s must-see attractions as his entertaining, fast-paced style took him to multiple world titles in several weight classes. 

Defeating other high-profile names such as Oscar De La Hoya, Erik Morales, and Miguel Cotto, Pacquiao did not just win, he secured victory in a fan-friendly manner which meant his fights were often well viewed affairs. 

His 2015 battle with Floyd Mayweather, a fight that was seven years in the making, still holds the record for the biggest buy rate in boxing history.

Despite his advancing years, Pacquiao is still a major attraction and even though some within the sport have ridiculed the idea of him coming back after so long out, one fighter believes he will win. 

Khan, once a stablemate of Pacquiao in Freddie Roach’s Wild Card gym, is confident that he can get the job done next month. 

“What a perfect match-up that is for Manny Pacquiao. Look, I sparred Barrios, I’ve trained with Barrios, he used to train with Virgil [Hunter] back in the day,” said Khan when speaking to IFLTV . 

“A very good fighter, a very good boxer, he’s not dangerous enough for someone like Manny Pacquiao, he’s not a hard, hard fight, he’s basic but he’s good at his basic stuff. For Manny, I think it’s a great fight. It’s a fight that’s winnable even if he’s had half a hard camp.”
