Two-time world champion Regis Prograis is not too impressed with Conor Benn who he branded as an "okay fighter".
Prograis and Benn are set to go head-to-head on the undercard of Tyson Fury's clash with Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This contest has many intriguing storylines attached to it, the biggest being Benn's first outing since leaving Eddie Hearn's Matchroom for Dana White's Zuffa Boxing.
Then there is a question as to whether an ageing Prograis is a good enough test for Benn, with the pair meeting at a 150lb catchweight.
Benn's two previous fights against Chris Eubank Jr. last year have been at middleweight, with the 29-year-old making no secret of his intentions to return to welterweight.
However, at a catchweight, Benn will look to use the extra pounds to his advantage against Prograis, but the American is ready for anything that comes his way in north London, especially if Benn opts to be aggressive come the opening bell.
"We train for everything. I spar big guys. Last week, I sparred Shawn Porter who is 200lbs, a huge dude and super strong. I feel like I’m prepared for anything if he comes in to try and bully me," Prograis told Inside the Ring.
Then came the assessment of Benn's career so far.
Despite not winning any major titles, Benn has become one of British boxing's biggest names, and is embracing the villain role.
The decision to leave Matchroom for Zuffa was one which shocked the sport, and continues to add to the attention and carnival that surrounds Benn.
But while Benn is making plenty of noise outside of the ring, Prograis has been underwhelmed with what he's seen inside of it.
"I think he’s an ‘okay’ fighter, I’ve been a world champion twice already. I feel like he’s not on my level, for me, he’s an ‘okay’ fighter."
It was not too long ago that Prograis was an exciting talent, but since losing his WBC super lightweight title to Devin Haney three years ago, the American has won just one of his last three fights.
On Inside the Ring, Prograis opened up about his struggles.
"My personal life has been stressful, very stressful," said Prograis.
"Another thing is that I fell out of love with boxing. I’ve got a tattoo on my arm saying I’m obsessed with boxing, but I fell out of love with it.
"My goal was to become a two-time world champion, and once I did that, I didn’t know what there was to do."
This love for boxing has since returned for Prograis as he prepares for a big night under the stadium lights.
"I had the love for the game, but I didn’t have the passion like I once had at the time.
"But I’m back at the stage where I’m loving it, I love being in the gym."
