Ty Mitchell believes he has "had the luxury" of preparation for a more natural weight as he prepares to face Sean Hemphill at Misfits 22 – Ring of Thrones on DAZN Pay-Per-View.
The incumbent MF Pro Light Heavyweight champion drops down to super middleweight for his latest encounter at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday night.
Mitchell, who delivered stoppage victories over Tommy Hench and Idris Virgo earlier this year, will fight in a third division in as many fights when he faces Hemphill over ten rounds.
But speaking exclusively to DAZN News, the 34-year-old says fighting closer to his usual size will have given him a better grasp as he bids for the MF Pro Super Middleweight title.
"I'm feeling really well," he said. "It's been a hard camp for my first ten-rounder, so I've really had to put the work in. We're nearly towards the end of it now.
"I had an inkling I'd be fighting around this time, so I kept my shape half-decent and my weight down. In past fights, I've had to focus more on weight loss.
"I've had the luxury of working more on fitness. I don't diet for fights. I know what weight I need to be at, and I don't struggle. Super middleweight is my natural weight.
"For Idris Virgo, I was in good shape. I probably boxed about a pound heavier the next day, so I knew I was going to go back down to super-middleweight.
"It's the weight I'm comfortable at. I don't diet. I've had KFC, chocolate and crisps the whole camp. I'll generally eat healthy, but if I want something, I'll have it."
