"I've never seen two men slide as much as these two," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. “If I looked like that, I’d retire on the spot.

"They look like a couple of club fighters from a white-collar match in a local leisure centre. It was sad for me to watch."

Fury returns to the ring this weekend in pursuit of his own comeback swansong, after reversing his retirement in January.

Tyson Fury is seldom a man to mince his words, so his blunt comments on Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder have heft.

'The Gypsy King' won five out of six combined bouts with the pair and drew the other too, so he does have credit here.

Nevertheless, whether he means to or not, it does ramp up the pressure on Fury to deliver himself when he returns too.

This Saturday's test against Arslanbek Makhmudov will offer a serious glimpse into how the Briton has fared since 2024.

If Fury can uncork the champagne performance he desires, there will be no concerns. For his own sake, he will hope he can.
