After 12 gruelling rounds at London's Alexandra Palace, Ryder was awarded the split decision after two judges scored the fight 115-113 in his favour, while the third scored the fight 115-113 to Jacobs.

While it's a huge win to have on his record, there are some who think Ryder didn't deserve the victory.

When Ak and Barak broke down the fight on The DAZN Boxing Show, they both believed the American should've been awarded the win.

"I don’t agree with the decision," Ak began.

"I do feel that Daniel Jacobs did enough to win that fight.

"I think that lack of activity just makes it a whole blur. When you think about the entire fight afterwards you say to yourself ‘who won that fight?’

"If you dissect it as a judge should round-by round, and then you say ‘wait a minute Daniel won seven rounds of that fight and you could arguably give him eight.’"

Ak then quickly played down the reaction of fans.

"I think it was a robbery, but not a highway robbery.

"I think ‘controversial’ is the best word to use for this particular decision, but it didn’t seem like a statement was trying to be made by Daniel Jacobs that night."

Barak meanwhile claimed a drop in energy for Jacobs allowed Ryder back into the fight, but the British super middleweight still didn't do enough to be awarded the win on points. 

"If I could complain about anything, it didn’t look like Daniel was sitting down on his punches," Barak said.

"I think Andre Rozier said a couple of times ‘you’ve got to dig down on those punches.' 

"It seemed like there was a lot of arm punches, maybe he gassed out around the seventh round."

Former Jacobs opponent, Gabe Rosado, who was a guest on DAZN's broadcast, gave scored the opening round 10-10, something which Barak disagreed with. 

"Now if you ask me, I don’t always look at CompuBox, but CompuBox can paint a certain picture, but if you ask me he won the first six rounds," Barak claimed.

"That means the second half of the fight in my opinion, all you needed was one more round and I believe on Rosado’s card it was the same thing.

"Now Rosado gave both the first round, I thought the first round went to Jacobs, but he scored it a 10-10 for Ryder and Jacobs.

"On my card, if you all need is one round, you can’t tell me Ryder has won every single round, especially the twelfth round, now the tenth round could have gone either way, give that to Ryder fine.

"But that twelfth round, Ryder barely did anything. If you look at Compubox, Jacobs landed 10 more punches, 18 punches to 8. He definitely won that round, Jacobs definitely won the twelfth round.

"On my card that’ll be at least 7-5, I don’t understand how they gave that to Ryder."
