The tour's swing through the Great Lakes Region saw Jon Rahm crowned Individual champion for a second straight season, while Torque GC took the Team prize.

But with the end of the campaign, and the PGA Tour deep into the FedEx Cup playoffs, golf fans across the globe will be turning their attention to the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Set for Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, Team Europe will bid to retain the crown they claimed on home soil last time out as they fly to the USA.

Once, it appeared that the door was shut for LIV Golf talent to be involved in this event, but softened tensions along the fairways means we shall see several in the fray.

But just which players will be in the mix for selection through those all-crucial captain's picks? DAZN News profiles the likely candidates who will be lining up this year.

Bryson DeChambeau (Team USA)

One of two LIV Golf players automatically assured of a place so far, success at the 2024 U.S. Open has proven to be a crucial ticket for the two-time major winner here.

Coupled with six other top-ten finishes at majors in the two-year qualifying window between tournaments, the American just snuck in with sixth-place on the standings.

It marks a return to Team USA after a four-year absence, having been missing in action for the 2023 edition of the tournament after his departure from the PGA Tour.

Tyrell Hatton (Team Europe)

The other star to be assured of a spot through qualification finishes, Hatton also left for LIV Golf in 2024, and has been reliant on the majors to book his ticket at Bethpage.

Though he does not have a major to his name, a ninth-place finish at the 2024 Masters Tournament and a fourth-place finish at the 2025 U.S. Open have been key for him.

It will mark a fourth overall selection for him, and he will hope to be part of the cohort that bring back a second successive triumph from New York across the North Atlantic.

Jon Rahm (Team Europe)

Individual champion in LIV Golf the last two seasons, few players have been in as consistent form on either tour as the Spaniard has this year, even without a weekend win.

That form means he looks sure to be one of captain Luke Donald's picks to make up the rest of his team, in no small part thanks to his wealth of experience in the tournament.

A three-time representative, he scored a crucial three points in 2023 as Europe took the trophy in Rome and will hope he can contribute alongside his old team-mates again.

Brooks Koepka (Team USA)

A five-time major winner whose most recent triumph came only in 2023, with four straight Ryder Cup selections under his belt, feels like he should be a shoo-in for a fifth bite.

But without the PGA Tour points and a slew of highly disappointing major performances this year - he only made the cut once - Koepka faces an uphill battle to secure his spot.

Captain Keegan Bradley will know the quality that he brings on his day, but under the bright lights this season, the 35-year-old has struggled, meaning his time could be up.
