The final month of the 2025 LIV Golf season begins this week in Chicago as LIV Golf returns to the Windy City.
Action shifts back to North America after stops in Spain and the UK, where the individual and team leaders each extended their respective advantages atop the leaderboard.
What's in store at Bolingbrook Golf Club from August 8-10? Here are a few of the narratives we're keeping an eye on.
Sprint to the finish
As mentioned, this is the final month of competition, with Chicago kicking off back-to-back-to-back weekends that will decide the season.
That means there is little margin for error as players and teams look to move up the leaderboard, making every hole that much more meaningful.
Niemann reigns
Joaquin Niemann currently stands atop the leaderboard with a great chance at claiming the inidivual title, especially after he claimed victory in the United Kingdom two weeks ago to add to his advantage over primary challenger Jon Rahm.
Niemann has now rung off five victories this season. No one else in LIV Golf has more than one.
By all accounts, he should have already wrapped things up already but inconsistency outside of his five wins have allowed Rahm to hang around — Niemann only finished inside the top 10 on those five occasions when he's won, whereas Rahm has 10 top-10 finishes.
Regardless, Niemann can clinch the title this week, but a podium finish — or better yet, a victory — would be the icing on the cake for a man Rahm calls "undoubtedly a top-10 player in the world right now."
Legion XIII go for three in a row
On the team side of things, Rahm's Legion XIII is the one to beat.
The team took full advantage of LIV Golf's swing through Europe in July, winning both events to give them a commanding lead heading into the final three events of the season.
With seven top-3 finishes this season, including four victories, would anyone be surprised if Legion XIII claimed their third straight win this weekend and won the team title?
