In an interview with DAZN News, the Australian shared his thoughts on his Glory debut. It's been a special training camp for the former powerlifter, who is ready to make a name for himself in the organization.

DAZN News: You're going to have your first fight in the Glory. How does it feel?

Alex Simon: It feels amazing. First fight in Glory. It's a big card. I think it's the biggest card of the year. My first big crowd. I'm really excited. A legend. I'm coming to his hometown. Everything's making it to be a big fight, and I'm really excited. I can't wait for it.

DN: He fought all the best fighters in kickboxing. What do you think of him?

AS: I show my respects to him. He's a legend. He's been there, done that, fought everyone. I'm honored to be in the ring with him and mix it up with him.

DN: Any prediction?

AS: I'm a strong guy. I've got heavy punches. I can throw heavy punches. So kill or be killed. That's my whole outlook.

DN: How was the training camp? Did you find training partners ?

AS: There's a lot of big guys in Australia, so we've got some big boys, my size and taller and some heavier as well to move around with good kickboxers. So yeah, no, training has been good. Good big guys to move around with.

DN: Why did you choose the kickboxing? 

AS: I've fought everything. Professional boxing, kickboxing, MMA. Personally, because we got an offer from Glory, I like MMA. But if Glory comes and says, "Look, you're on a bigger striking show in the world," why would I not want to? It's an honor and I'm excited to fight under their banner.

DN: What do you think of Rico Verhoeven ?

AS: Yes. He's amazing. His résumé speaks for itself. The guy was the champion, I think, for 10 years. Who's done that in any sport, let alone a fighting sport? So he's a legend, man, and he should be doing his retirement or whatever's next for him. Hopefully, he makes a lot of money. He deserves it.

DN: If you win that fight, you're going to qualify for the eight-tournament guys in February. Do you think that you can go into the end? 

AS: Yeah, 100%, I'm a big guy. I'm a big puncher. If I hit anyone, I'm going to hurt them. Anyone in the world. If I hit him clean, I'm going to hurt him. So this is the heavyweight. And all that "three fights in one night" stuff, I grew up watching it in K1. I reckon that's gangsta, that's mad. So I'd love to do that. And yeah, I can hurt anyone.

DN: What can we expect from you ?

AS: Excitement. Excitement. I'm big, I'm strong, I'm aggressive. I'm going to feel the crowd, the energy, and put on a good show. I hit hard, and I'm coming to fight and entertain the fans.

DN: What is your weight right now? 

AS: 136 kilos.

DN: How is your cardio?

AS: I'm working on it. It should be okay. I've dropped the weight for this, so I hope it's good. 

DN: Can you fight for three rounds or five rounds?

AS: It's okay. We will find out. I'm not sure. We'll find out. Hopefully, just one round. Hopefully.
