Jon Jones is sick and tired of being sick and tired.

The former light heavyweight kingpin and the fighter most feel is the greatest to ever strap on the four-ounce gloves has publicly asked for his UFC release.

“Please just cut me already,” Jones wrote Monday on Twitter in a series of messages that were later deleted. “You would rather have me around and treat me like s—. I swear the UFC industry has been nothing but depressing for me. Just f—ing let me go.

“What type of weird s— is this, obviously the boss hates me. Let me take my business elsewhere.”

Jones' statement on Monday comes after a war of words with UFC president Dana White after Francis Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic at Saturday's UFC 260 to become the heavyweight champion.

Jones tweeted “show me the money” about a potential Ngannou-Jones superfight which White has been referencing as the fight to make leading into UFC 260. However, when asked at his post-fight press conference to respond to Jones' comments, White fired back and claimed Jones really doesn't want to face Ngannou and even suggested that Ngannou's first title defense could be a rematch against Derrick Lewis because it's "the fight to make."

“Listen, I can sit here all day and tell you, what’s 'show me the money' mean?” White said. “I tell you guys this all the time. You can say you want to fight somebody, but do you really want to?”

The statement didn't sit well with Jones, who fired back at White for even suggesting that he is suddenly afraid of Ngannou instead of addressing why he doesn't want to increase his pay for his trek up to heavyweight.

It isn't the first time Jones and White have had a public battle in terms of facing Ngannou.

After vacating the 205-pound title and declaring his move to heavyweight last year, Jones and Ngannou engaged in a war of words on social media. Interest in the potential fight was high, and negotiations began. Talks didn't last long, and Jones let the world know, blasting White and the promotion due to a lack of a raise in compensation.

Whether Jones and Ngannou will lock horns in 2021 is now in serious question.
