Remembering what was going on in the world the last time Conor McGregor won a fight

When Conor McGregor steps into the Octagon against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on Jan. 18, it will have been 1,160 days since the last time "Notorious" has won a fight in the UFC. The night of Nov. 12, 2016, marked the day that McGregor made history as the first fighter in the UFC to hold world titles in two different weight classes when he scored a second-round knockout of Eddie Alvarez to add the lightweight championship to the featherweight strap he claimed a year earlier against Jose Aldo.

A lot of things have changed in the world since McGregor's last UFC victory. He would go on to have a mega fight in 2017 when he challenged Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing match that went on to do massive pay-per-view numbers before making a return to the Octagon in a failed attempt at reclaiming the UFC lightweight title against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

But to get a better understanding of how long it has been since McGregor last saw his hand raised in victory, DAZN News lists exactly what was going on in the world at the time.

You may be surprised at just how long it has been.
