Eden Hazard has suggested he would like to see a former Chelsea man return in a coaching role, admitting he “dreams” of watching him lead the club from the touchline.
Hazard made the comments while discussing the growing reputation of a young manager currently working in Serie A, whose progress in Italy has attracted attention beyond the league.
Chelsea recently appointed Liam Rosenior after dismissing Enzo Maresca, but Hazard believes another option already has the qualities needed to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard believes that Cesc Fàbregas is the right man for the Chelsea job, and speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Hazard revealed that he had already discussed the idea during the summer.
“I’ll be honest, in the summer we talked a little,” Hazard said. “I told him that he was one of the best midfielders in history and that he is destined to become one of the best coaches as well.
“I explained to him that it was time for him to go back to Chelsea and he joked about it, but I really think so.”
Hazard added that his former teammate’s understanding of the game sets him apart.
“He loves soccer, he knows everything about this sport,” he said. “I’m a Chelsea fan and I wish the best for the club: for this dream of seeing him on the bench, while I’m in the stands, behind him, enjoying the show.”
Fàbregas guided Como to a 10th-place finish in Serie A last season following promotion and has them competing for European qualification this campaign.
His work in Italy has led to links with Premier League clubs amid wider managerial uncertainty, including suggestions of interest from Chelsea and Manchester City.
Hazard was also asked which player he would like to see Fàbregas sign if he were to take charge at Stamford Bridge.

“My kids are crazy about Kenan Yildiz,” Hazard said. “They watch a lot of videos of his plays and hope to see him in the Premier League.
“To me, on the other hand, he looks like a guy from Real Madrid.”
Fàbregas remains under contract in Italy until 2027, but Hazard’s comments underline the regard in which he is held by former teammates and point to a possible Premier League return in the future.
