The FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ semi-finals are upon us — and many football fans will be hoping their picks for the Airbnb Bracket Challenge will come up trumps.
Since the beginning of the global showpiece, thousands of fans around the world have taken part in the popular interactive challenge to select which teams they thought would win the groups and then reach the final, which is taking place at MetLife Stadium on 13 July.
The bracket follows Airbnb's multi-tournament partnership with FIFA, in which the company will serve an Official Partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, an Official Supporter for the FIFA World Cup 26™ in North America and an Official Supporter for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in the Americas.
So how have fans done in their predictions? In the group stage, the majority fans were spot-on in choosing Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Real Madrid C.F. as winners of their respective groups.
By contrast, their expectations were confounded in Group A, with 41 per cent of participants believing the Portuguese giants would top the table, ahead of Palmeiras and Inter Miami CF. In the end, Porto finished third in the table and did not qualify for the Round of 16, while Palmeiras won the group after salvaging a 2-2 draw with Inter Miami in a frantic finish.
Since the bracket launched, the top-two most selected teams to reach the final are Real Madrid and PSG, with 24 per cent and 17 per cent of all predictions respectively. The European giants will meet in the semi-finals at the MetLife Stadium on Wednesday.
The most-selected team to win the FIFA Club World Cup final remains Real Madrid with 34 per cent of predictions.
Meanwhile, fans in the USA have driven the votes in the competition, with 36 per cent of American participants choosing Real Madrid to win the final.
