The 31-year-old has been the subject of overtures from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad, and with his role having changed this season and Jurgen Klopp set to leave the club at the end of the campaign, Salah could move on with a year left on his Liverpool contract.

Should that happen, the Reds will be expected to make a big splash in the transfer market to replace the departed star, and a former Liverpool player believes the answer lies within the Premier League.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Mark Lawrenson named a current West Ham and England player who could help fill the shoes of Salah if need be.

“Jarrod Bowen to Liverpool is very much a possibility – he can play in all three positions across the front line, gets you goals and work hard," Lawrenson said.

“You’re not going to get another Mo Salah. The other thing he gives you is that he works extremely hard defensively – he wasn’t great at it when he joined but he’s improved on it.

"Anyone could join, but I think he will leave – no doubt about that whatsoever."

Lawrenson actually identified another area of the pitch that he feels Liverpool should be focused on upgrading, regardless of what happens with Salah.

“As for who replaces him, I’m not sure how much money Liverpool will have," he said. "They need another centre-back, and that might be their first priority. It’s not just a matter of who replaces Salah for me.”
