Frank Leboeuf says Mauricio Pochettino was not the problem at Chelsea

Frank Leboeuf believes Mauricio Pochettino was hard done by at Chelsea and that the blame for their problems last season lies at the feet of club ownership and certain players.
Pochettino led the Blues to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League in 2023-24, but their position was boosted by a late-season surge after a woeful start to the campaign.
Regardless, Pochettino was deemed surplus to requirements after just one season and replaced by former Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca this summer. Former Chelsea defender Leboeuf backs the new hiring, but he doesn't think Pochettino deserved to be let go so quickly.
"I don’t know Enzo Maresca very well and I wish him all the best, but I genuinely believe it won’t change anything," Leboeuf said while speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Euro 2024 Betting.
"The problem is on the pitch, not the coach. Pochettino did so well and it’s f***** up that the owners aren’t getting it. It’s because of the players why we’re doing badly, not the coach.
"After three years, the only problems we have are on the field - Poch did well especially at the end of the season to finish sixth, but it’s impossible unless the right players are bought.
"When you buy Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo for a combined £220m and they are not even at the top of their countries, it’s extremely worrying."
