'It will eventually dissipate' - Ange Postecoglou confident Tottenham will reverse fortunes following third straight Premier League loss

Tottenham Hotspur extended their winless streak in the Premier League to six games as they fell 3-2 at Everton on Sunday.

It was Spurs' third straight loss in the league and it came despite a furious second-half comeback attempt that fell just short. After Everton took a commanding three-goal lead into the halftime break, Tottenham applied pressure over the final 45 minutes and managed to score two late goals to make the scoreline more palatable.

However, the result remains the same as the North London club is winless in league play since mid-December.

"It is a difficult result," Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou told Sky Sports of the loss to Everton. "We struggled to really get in the game in the first half and that gave Everton and momentum. We gave ourselves a mountain to climb but the players certainly tried to claw the game back but we just fell short.

"We couldn't really take control of the game. We struggled to get any traction in terms of with and without the ball and that allowed to get in behind us. We had some chances where we probably should have capitalised early on, but in the end it wasn't enough."

Postecoglou lamented the lack of available bodies as he mentioned that Spurs "literally had 11 players fit enough to start the game" against the Toffees, but he hopes that some of the 10 Tottenham players listed as injured for Sunday's match will eventually filter back into the team and help reverse the club's fortunes.

"If you look at the situation we're in, it will eventually dissipate," he said. "I certainly hope and believe it will. We'll give ourselves the opportunity to get consistency in performance and results. I certainly haven't lost belief or determination to turn it around and the players showed in the second half that they haven't either."
