We're slowly getting to the point of the Premier League season where everyone starts to look at figures and tallies to see who's in line for individual gold come the end of the season.

Top of that agenda is the league's Golden Boot as this season's top scorer. For the first half of the campaign, the destination of this year's shiny shoe looked like a forgone conclusion, but with less than ten games to go, there's still a chance for several names to win 2026's award.

DAZN News has a look at who's still in the running...

Ultimate Tier - heavyweight season

Joao Pedro - 14 goals

No Premier League player has scored more goals in 2026 than Chelsea's in-form hitman, who seems to have flourished since the arrival of Liam Rosenior.

Much has been made of the Blues' lack of a real 'number 9', with Liam Delap failing to live up to his exploits of last season. But in Pedro, they look to have found a goalscorer, regardless of whether he is the focal point of the attack or not.

In this calendar year, the Brazilian has found the net 11 times, 8 of which in the league, and although he remains a little way behind the top scorer right now, if his form continues, it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could end up with the season's goalscoring prize.

Antoine Semenyo - 15 goals

Sememyo is making the case for being one of the best-ever January buys in the Premier League, because he's made a seamless transition from Bournemouth to the big spotlight at Manchester City.

Having already reached double figures for the Cherries before arriving in the winter window, the winger has since scored five more goals to his name in a blistering start to his City career.

His zip and drive have given Pep Guardiola's man an added weapon to their attacking arsenal, and if he carries on playing and scoring the way he has all season, then he may have to wrestle with his teammate up front for this year's Golden Boot.

Igor Thiago - 18 goals

One of the season's surprise stars is the biggest threat to the more established names at the top of this list.

Many wondered where the goals would come from after Brentford sold both their top scorers last summer in Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, but fans shouldn't have been concerned because they have come from the boots of this star striker.

Thiago put behind him an injury-ravaged first season for the Bees last term and has carried their European charge with 18 goals - the most scored by a Brazilian player in a single Premier League season.

His performances could well see him land the Golden Boot as well as a first call-up to the Brazil squad, just in time for the World Cup.

Erling Haaland - 22 goals

Early in the season, it seemed Erling Haaland might make the Golden Boot race a formality, with 19 goals already to his name before Father Christmas arrived.

However, in what's a rarity for the Norwegian, the goals have dried up in 2026, with the striker netting only three times since the turn of the year, taking his total to 22.

It still puts him out in front and on course to win his third Golden Boot in four seasons since he moved to the Premier League, but he's allowed the chasing pack to get within striking distance of his total.

Can the City man cling on to the top flight's shiniest footwear or will he be hunted down before the close of play in May?
