City progressed to the semi-finals on Wednesday night after beating German giants Bayern Munich 4-1 on aggregate, and will once more face the defending champions Real Madrid for a place in the final. 

Pep Guardiola's team took on Los Blancos in the semi-finals of last season's tournament in what was a chaotic tie and saw Madrid run out 6-5 winners on aggregate. 

However, with the free scoring Erling Haaland within their ranks, Ferdinand believes he could be the difference and lead City to European glory. 

"Reluctantly, I will say Man City. But I have said it for the last three years, I will continue in that vein,’ " Ferdinand told Metro.

"I think they’re going to get it right. ‘Haaland’s impact [will be the difference].’ "

With City still alive in three competitions, the Sky Blues could replicate Manchester United's historic 1999 treble winning season and that quest continues on Saturday when they take on Sheffield United in the first FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium.
