'Why would I be happy?' - Ange Postecoglou bemoans latest Tottenham loss

Tottenham Hotspur suffered their second loss in their last three Premier League matches on Sunday, falling 1-0 at Crystal Palace.

The match was a scrappy one, with the sides combining to commit 28 fouls. The chippy nature of the game didn't stop Spurs from dominating possession though, with 67 percent of the ball belonging to the visiting side.

However, their possession advantage didn't convert to an edge in chances as Palace doubled Tottenham's number of shots on target (6-3), crucially scoring the match's lone goal in the 31st minute as the hosts caught Spurs spending too much time on the ball in their own defensive half.

Black Friday - US & UK prices

It was a frustrating effort for the North London side, who remain well outside the Champions League places and searching for answers.

"It was one of those games with a lot of stoppages and battles and they ended up winning a lot of them and coming out on top," Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou told BBC Match of the Day. "There was a lot of disruption and it was hard to get any fluency. They did better than us.

"It turned into a game they were thriving on and we should have dealt with it better. It was a poor goal to concede, it had nothing to do with playing out from the back. That can happen."

In some losing efforts, fans can take solace from their club's performance as signs of growth and coherence are evident, but Postecoglou suggested that would not be the case following Sunday's match.

"I'd be very surprised if they were happy right now," he said. "Why would I be happy? If I'm unhappy then they'll be unhappy. If you're suggesting that our fans weren't happy with today then that's a fair assessment."
