The pair met in Los Angeles on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov, with the winner of this particular contest putting themselves in pole position for big fights in the future. 

However, both men were left disappointed after two of the three judges scored the fight 114-114, whilst the other scored the bout 116-112 in favour of Miller. 

Speaking to BoxingScene, Miller gave his thoughts on the contest.  

"I know I did enough," Miller said. 

"I threw more punches; it's called effective aggression."

Miller then went on to criticise the judges claiming that they were not impartial for his clash with Ruiz. 

"We need different judges, not so close to California," Miller continued.

"We had a California judge, a Nevada judge; we knew we were coming into his hometown — one judge scored it for me and two called it a draw.

"That's boxing; sometimes you get robbed.

"I just want the fans to keep supporting me; I've been an underdog my whole life."
