Former WBA world super lightweight champion Regis Prograis is frustrated.

After unidsputed champion Josh Taylor vacated both his WBA and WBC 140lb titles in order to secure a rematch with Jack Catterall, Prograis doesn't find himself contending for any of the belts.

It's no surprise that the American is frustrated about the lack of an opportunity to fight for a world title and when speaking to The DAZN Boxing Show, Prograis couldn't help but feel like he is being overlooked by the governing bodies.

"It’s frustrating," Prograis said.

"With the WBA they had six people all in line for the belt, you had to state why you wanted to do it again, for me, the resume should speak. Especially all those dudes, who was any of those dudes, I was the only that was actually a WBA world champion.

"None of them was a champion, I’m adamant about being a champion again, why wouldn’t you pick me?"

When discussing his situation with the WBC, Prograis had similar feelings, especially considering he was in a mandatory position to fight for the iconic green and gold belt.

"Now with the WBC, my last fight was a mandatory. Then they did Jose Zepeda vs. Jose Ramirez, for me I feel like I’m just getting stepped over," Prograis continued.

"Ramirez’s last fight, he fought for a mandatory also, so we both fought for a mandatory.

"I have no problem with Zepeda, Zepeda definitely earned the right to fight for the belt, I have no argument with that.

"With me and Ramirez, how does he step in front of me?

"Since the loss to Josh Taylor, I fought three opponents and I knocked out all three of them.

"He fought one time, I fought three times, he fought one time and he gets right back in that spot before me, I just feel like I’m being stepped over."
