Sam Jones will be an eager spectator when Daniel Dubois receives a world title crack against Fabio Wardley on May 9, live only on DAZN.
The popular manager, now an agent for Dubois, is excited about the WBO belt clash and he is extremely confident that his man will look impressive when the first bell sounds in Manchester.
Dubois enters the bout on the back of a big loss to Oleksandr Usyk, and it is unclear whether any scars from that setback last July still exist.
In Wardley, Dubois will be going up against a domestic rival who enjoyed a stellar 2025 as he stopped both Justis Huni and Joseph Parker on his way to becoming WBO champion.
In both those bouts, Wardley rallied brilliantly to close to the show in the latter stages, but despite his renowned durability, Jones believes that Dubois’ power is unlike anything Wardley has faced before.
“I like Fabio. I’m impressed with what he’s done and how he’s done it, but Dubois as a fighter and as a puncher is different to Huni and Parker,” said Jones when speaking to DAZN News.
“Daniel is till so young for a heavyweight and he’s crammed so much into his career so far, but believe me, there’s still so much more to come and I think he’s going to be around this level for a very long time.
“People can say what they want about Wardley’s power, but I know that Daniel is the puncher in this fight, and we’ll see how tough Wardley is when Daniel lands.”
“I’m so confident for this fight and I honestly believe that Daniel will be on top early and get himself a conclusive win that leaves no doubt who the better fighter is.”
